Sing… Sing… Sing…

Sing... sing... sings... 'Love & Hope' at The Love Lounge, The Bell, Bath, 28 May 2025, 8pm

When you come to the special Fringe show, ‘Love & Hope’, at The Bell, Bath, on May 28, one thing we hope is that you’ll want to get involved…

Not Just Another Gig

If you’ve been to any of the previous shows, you’ll know that these are not ‘just another gig’. Rather, they implore you – the audience – to engage: to think; to dance; and to sing… sing… sing. A lot of effort goes on behind the scenes to provide something out of the ordinary for your entertainment. And, to achieve this, a host of collaborators have been more than generous with their time and energy. For which, I’m eternally grateful.

This year, I must pay tribute to Bath Folk Singers. One or two of their number have taken part in earlier Band named Brian Fringe extravaganzas. And these have been instrumental in recruiting a good many of their colleagues for the new show “Love & Hope”. Their precise involvement will be revealed when you come along to The Bell on May 28th. Suffice to say, we hope they will induce you all to sing along.

Power & Beauty

Communal singing is such an uplifting experience that I would encourage anyone thinking about joining a choir to give it a go. Bath has a wealth of choice in this respect. From aIl-comer, community groups to audition-only show choirs, there really is something for everyone. And these cover a range of styles. Whether you are moved by classical choral works, folk song, gospel, pop or jazz, it’s all out there.

And – don’t forget – none of these exists in a vacuum. They all go out and perform. So, having an audience completes the picture. If you don’t want to sing yourself, you can certainly enjoy the power and beauty of others doing so, en masse.

Enthusiasm & Commitment

Talking of which, did I mention there will be a scratch choir taking part in ‘Love & Hope’? These are not only from Bath Folk Singers, there are also members – past and present – of Bath Choral Society, Lucis, The Bellini Girls, Bath Male Voice Choir and possibly others. Their enthusiasm and commitment is both humbling and inspirational. And I know that their involvement will be the metaphorical cherry on the cake.

Now, all you need to do is come and be entertained. See you there!
